Specialty Addiction Programs

What are specialty addiction programs?

For chemically dependent and/or alcohol addicted patients, individualized treatment plans based upon current best practices address specific clinical and demographic needs. Long term studies indicate that these specialty addiction programs produce positive, long-term results.

Research has repeatedly illustrated that certain demographics, such as women, Native Americans, seniors, or dual diagnosed, come to addiction treatment programs facing different cultural, age, or gender issues. Addiction treatment can be more effective if particular demographic issues are addressed at the same time.

Treatment facilities that provide medically based addiction programs may have special treatment tracks (not all facilities have dual diagnosis, GLBTQ, women, senior tracks). These tracks, as mentioned above, can provide patients with therapeutic components and an environment in which to address their specific needs.
